May Offline special goes live!

Hello there, we're back with an Offline special recorded on the last Thursday in May down at the Dogstar. It was probably the best Offline so far, so we're exceedingly pleased to have got it on tape (or modern equivalent).

There's a slight change to the format this time; the show is available in MP3 at high (128), medium (64), and low (32) kbps bitrates. The sections are a bit shorter to make up for it. Hope this is ok for everyone - do let us know if we should also have a 24 kbps available.

May Day Launch!

The urban75radio collective is chuffed to bits to announce that our first programme will go out on Sunday 1st May. There’ll be 2 hours of top-notch entertainment, brought to you by urbanites, featuring

· An interview with Mike Slocombe – editor of urban75 – on how the site began, why he still bothers with it, anarchy, knitting circles and what pisses him off about urbanites!

· Music and comedy from Offline, urban75s free club night (“so successful it hurts!” – Time Out) at the Dogstar in Brixton, including JC001 – “the fastest rapper alive” – and Vic’s Cabaret Corner.

· A Mayday documentary special on the precarity of labour and life in Europe, looking at parades and actions from Helsinki to Hamburg, Ljubjana to London, Paris to Palermo.

The pilot show will be available on this site for dial-up and broadband download, from 11am this Sunday. We’ll be following it up with 3 more programmes (on the 3rd, 8th and 10th of May), including eclectic and esoteric discussion from Bristol and London urbs, alternative media, new music, live music, poster profiles and random fruit-loopery.
